She married LEVI STREITENBERGER March 30, 1908 in Ledocia, Ky., Lawrence Co., USA, son of WILLIAM STREITENBERGER and RACHEL SMELTZER. He was born September 27, 1880 in Bobo, Union Twnshp., Pike Co., Ohio, USA, and died July 04, 1966 in Waverly, Pike Co., Ohio, USA.
Notes for LEVI STREITENBERGER:
Levi Streitenberger was my grandfather. He lived his last few months with our family in Waverly, Ohio, after the death of his wife, Rosa Lee (Hayes) Streitenberger.
When he first moved in with us, he emphasized to my mother (his oldest daughter), Ruby Lillian, that he did not want to be a burden on any of us. And he never was. As soon as my mother and father got out the door, Grandpa, as we called him (but always referred to as "Poppy" by my mother), would call us into the room and tell us to go do whatever we wanted to do. Sometimes I'm sure he knew that we had been instructed to stay there and keep an eye out for him, but he never wanted that. At times, he would even give us money as if to bribe us to leave. My mother used to say that "The Old German" watched his pennies, but we boys certainly saw no sign of that tendency.
Grandpa Streitenberger knew the Bible inside and out. He read constantly and his favorite piece of literature by far was the Bible. I know he read it hundreds of times. My best high school friend, Dan Armbruster, would come into the house to wait for me to get ready to go somewhere and spend the time talking to Grandpa. One evening when I came out and said, "Let's go", Dan seemed quite anxious to leave. Once outside, Dan said, "Damn, I'm glad we got out of there. That old man almost had me under conviction!" Ironically, Grandpa passed away on July 4, 1966, Dan Armbruster's birthday.
Grandpa also knew history exceptionally well. He knew all the presidents of the United States, their terms of office, when they were born, who they married, practically everything about them. As a youngster, I remember being absolutely enthralled with a small wooden stand and very realistic plastic miniatures of the presidents that sat proudly on a conspicuous shelf. The "presidents" were even more impressive than Grandma's collection of hundreds of salt and pepper shakers!
Grandpa Streitenberger's left arm was withered and he carried it on his chest almost as if it were in a sling. It had been for a long period as a young man. His parents tied it up after it just quit functioning. The arm remained that way the rest of his life. Consequently, he was unable to earn his living by manual labor as most did in those days. As a direct result of his "handicap", Levi Streitenberger pursued his education beyond what most others did in that time. He completed college at Valparaiso, Indiana. He became a teacher and a licensed Free-Will Baptist preacher.
Levi Streitenberger taught school during the week and made the preaching circuit on the weekend. One of his teaching jobs was in a one-room schoolhouse on Little Blaine in Lawrence County, Kentucky. His daughter, Ruby, attended school there under his tutelage as did another student, Bill Thompson. A few years later, Bill Thompson would be asking Levi for his daughter's hand in marriage. Levi would respond, "Yes, you may marry her, but I want you to know that you're marrying a big doctor bill" (Ruby had been ill a little too much for Levi's liking).
Children of ROSA HAYES and LEVI STREITENBERGER are:
i. LILLY ROBERTA15 STREITENBERGER, b. October 1909, Lawrence Co., Ky., USA; d. January 1910, Lawrence Co., Ky., USA. 101. ii. RUBY LILLIAN STREITENBERGER, b. August 02, 1912, Ledocia, Lawrence Co., Ky., USA.

Notes for FLOYD ELDRED STREITENBERGER:
Floyd Eldred Streitenberger was killed in action in WWII in Burma, India on Dec. 9, 1944. His assignment was to fly supplies into the US field troops behind the enemy lines. It is my understanding that soldiers performing this particular duty were sent home after completing twenty-two such missions. Floyd's plane was shot down behind the lines on their twenty-second mission. His remains were sent home to Lawrence Co., Kentucky where his parents resided. His mother, Rosa Lee Hayes Streitenberger, never emotionally recovered from the loss.

Notes for WILLIAM JENNINGS BRYAN THOMPSON:
William Jennings Bryan Thompson was named after William Jennings Bryan, an elegant orator and Democratic nominee for the presidency of the United States three times (1896, 1900, 1908). Bryan's political highlight was his nomination for the presidency in 1896 in Chicago after his famous "Cross of Gold" speech. In July of 1925 Bryan went to Dayton, Tennessee to assist in the prosecution of teacher John T. Scopes in the famous "Scopes Monkey Trial". Scopes was found guilty (later overruled) and fined. However, the excesses and passions of the court battle took their toll: Bryan fell ill and died on July 26, 1925 at the age of 65.
The following abbreviated anecdotal record was written by William Jennings Bryan Thompson in 1974 at age 65. His grandson-in-law, Andrew James Carlson (husband of Krista Diane Magaw) typed the notes. Several family members have "hard copies" of the typed notes after they were copied and handed out at the funeral of William Jennings Bryan Thompson. So in some part, he wrote his own epitaph.
"I was born in Lawrence Co., Kentucky on Sept. 12, 1909 and raised on Little Blaine Creek. There were six in our family, three boys and three girls and I was the youngest, and of course, I was spoiled to a certain extent. My dad and mother were hard working Christian parents. They did their best to teach us children the right way, but as most children do, we did not at all times follow their teachings.
We all had to work hard in order to keep food on the table. We would clear a few acres of woods during the winter months and would plant the ground in corn in the spring. We usually raised about 200 bushels of corn, and my mother always planted a large garden, and she would make a barrel of kraut, a barrel of pickled beans, and a barrel of pickled corn on the cob. Also, she would dry pumpkins before the open fire and she would dry apples on the house roof. This was our sustenance during the winter months. My two younger sisters and I (the three older ones were married and gone) would sit around the old open wood fire and play fox and goose and red man and white man during the winter months. Red man and white man was a game played with red and white grains of corn. We were a very happy family, and I firmly believe that the hill people in Kentucky are the happiest people anywhere in the world. They don't have much of the world's goods, but they feel as Paul of the Bible: With food and raiment therewith to be content.
My summer days were spent hoeing corn six days a week when it wasn't raining. Boy, was I glad when it rained and it was too wet to hoe corn for a day or two.
We would go to the field as soon as the sun was up and start the day off working. At nine o'clock we would take a 15 minute rest, sometimes a little longer, and at 11:30 we would go to the house for dinner. Mother would always have our dinner on the table, and we sure did consume a lot of food. There would be fried potatoes, green beans, sometimes pickled beans which was my favorite dish, corn bread and good old country sorghum. My dad would raise enough corn to make our sorghum. We would pay toll to get it made. I think it was one-third part we gave to have it made.
I was always glad when molasses-making-time came around. We would eat the foam with a paddle we made from a stock of cane. The sorghum maker would always work way into the night and we kids had a good time wrestling and playing in the cane pumeys (shavings).
Sometimes we would take our dogs and go possum hunting after they closed down for the night. These were the good old days. Our younger people don't know what they missed. Ha! Ha!
The school I went to was about two miles from my house and we walked it every day. There were no school buses. The only mode of transportation we had was horse and buggy. I am just 65 years old and I can remember the first automobile I ever saw. It nearly scared me to death. I guess I was about 10 years old.
When I was 13 years old it came up a thunder storm while we were hoeing corn on the hill and it began to rain. My kid sister and I went to a chestnut tree for shelter and lightning hit the tree we were under and knocked us unconscious. When I came to, my father and older sister had come to our rescue and they were praying to God for our recovery. I couldn't walk so my brother who had been cultivating the corn with a horse and double shovel carried me off the hill to the house. My father and older sister carried my younger sister who hadn't regained consciousness. Before she got to the house she rallied. There were holes burned in my clothes that looked like I had been shot with a shotgun. Believe me, for years I was so nervous when I heard it thunder, I would automatically drop my hoe and wings were on the road. I would go to the darkest place and stick my fingers in my ears so I couldn't see the lightning and hear the thunder.
I remember on Friday evening my father and I would take one of those big long white grass seed sacks and go to the crib and fill it with white corn and then bring it to the house. After we ate supper we would shell the corn around the old fireplace. My dad would take an old quilt and put it in the middle of the floor. Then he would pour corn on it out of the big sack. Then we would place our chairs around the four corners, then reach down and put the corners in the four chairs, and then start shelling. Mother always kept a clean sack to put the shelled corn in. We would put the corn in the clean sack. When we were ready to go to the mill on Saturday morning, I would go get the old mare and put the saddle on her, then throw the bushel of corn across the saddle and ride off to the mill. This was our bread for the next week. Sometimes there would be a dozen of us riding together to the mill before we got there. I would always try to get mine in first as we had to take turn and sometimes if we were a little late, we might have to wait for two hours before we got our turn. I am really glad for those days. We had it hard but still we had it good.
Those were the days when you really had neighbors. If anyone got sick they would flock in to sit up with you all night. Then when someone in the neighborhood died, everyone around would take their shovels and mattocks and start digging the grave. Also they would build the coffin with no cost to the family, maybe they would have to pay for the material.
The old house where I was raised is still standing and every time I go through there I stop and take a look at the old place. It really brings back a lot of memories. The folks who live there always greet me with a hearty welcome. They are the Harrison Moore family and are distant cousins of mine. Mrs. Moore's name is Myrt and she always greets me by saying, "Why, son, where have you been so long?" They always want us to eat with them. They are really friendly hillbillies. I always like to visit the old school house where I went to school. It too brings back lots of fond memories. One thing especially stands out in my memory. When I was in about the third grade there was a girl standing by the old well that I was sorta stuck on. It was Friday and school was over for the week and I was feeling my oats. The teacher's boy whom I was very fond of was with me, and I utttered some words that weren't so nice to this girl as I went by her. Her mother was picking beans across the road from us and I didn't see her until she screeched out and asked what kind of language was I using to her daughter. My friend and I ran as hard as we could down the road, but I hollered real loud back at her and I said Spanish talk, by God.
I had to go to the mill the next day and I had to pass this girl's house. I was scared to death going and coming. I turned my head away from the house thinking every minute that her dad would see me and pull me off the horse, but I was lucky and they didn't see me. But on Monday morning as I expected, at the first recess, the teacher said everybody is dismissed but Bill and Carl, so I knew what was coming. He said, "Bill, did you use profane language to that little girl Friday over at the well on the way home?" I said no. I hadn't seen Carl since the incident but he said no, too! That cleared me, but that didn't clear my conscience. So I still believe in the old saying you can't do wrong and get by. I always dreaded a whipping in school for when I got one my dad always gave me another after I got home. It hurt me worse for him to whip me than for the teacher.
Most of the people where I was raised were good honest, religious folks, but like myself they didn't have much education. There were many that didn't complete the eighth grade and their English was very poor. I completed the eighth grade and then I started to high school on Pond Creek in Pike Co., Kentucky which was about 100 miles from my home. The nearest high school was at Louisa, Kentucky which was about 14 miles. There weren't any buses in those days so I stayed with my brother (Ulysses "Lys" Thompson) on Pond Creek while in high school, which was a short period of about six weeks. Algebra and homesickness was more than I could take so I "quituated".
There were some things that fascinated me about my brother's neighborhood. We had a stock law where I lived, and we had to keep livestock under fence. But where he lived, the livestock ran loose on the commons. Sometimes you would have to watch or you would run over a hog, cow or horse with your car. My brother's cattle would take off for places unknown in the spring and would wind up home again in the fall.
One of my teachers (Levi Streitenberger) had a nice little daughter of whom I was very fond. He lived near us and I saw her quite often. We were also in school together. One year while her father was teaching she walked to school with him, a distance of about four miles one way. They moved to Ohio when she was eleven and I was 14. We never saw much of one another for a period of about five years. I was 19 when I made my way to Pike County, Ohio. I got a job on the railroad and worked there until the fall of the year 1929.
When I went home that fall I took my teacher's daughter home with me and we got married, and thank God, it's been 44 years and we are still together! During this time we have been and still are the proud parents of six wonderful children, one daughter and five sons. They have all got a college education and have given us 13 lovely grandchildren; eight girls and five boys. It's been wonderful and I hope we all live a good life here, and make it to that home which old Brother Kemper used to say every day will be Sunday bye and bye.
I'll never forget my Uncle Jack. My dad had two brothers and one sister. Uncle Arnoldis was the oldest, then Louverne and then Jack. My dad was the youngest and like me, he was slightly spoiled. Uncle Jack was small of stature and he had a voice that alternated between coarse and fine, which made him quite funny to some people. He stayed with us a big part of the time as he didn't get married until he was close to 60 years old.
He married an old woman about his age, whom we all knew as Aunt Mary Elijah until she married Uncle Jack, then we called her Aunt Mary Jack. The reason for this was because so many had the same name that they used their husband's first name to distinguish them apart. Uncle 'Lijah's last name was Spencer and there were other Mary Spencers in the neighborhood. Like myself, I was known as Bill Heck because of so many Bill Thompsons. Some of the older ones yet call me Bill Heck.
I'll never forget when I was just a young lad, my brother Lys had a farm which joined our farm. My dad took care of it for him as he worked away all the time. There was a big apple tree in the garden on this farm which was full of apples. We didn't need them so Dad gave them to Uncle Jack. Uncle Jack lived just a short distance from this place. There was an old house on this place so me and a buddy of mine decided we would make cider from the apples. We shook the tree and had gathered all of them and taken them to the old house when we spied Uncle Jack coming down the road by himself, going to church as it was on a Sunday morning. So me and my buddy, Ken Kise, decided we had better hide as we didn't want him to know who it was that got the apples. We hid behind some tall horse weeds. Uncle Jack paused and then talking to himself in a sorta coarse voice said, "I believe I'll get me an apple." When he saw there wasn't any he said in a high voice, "Hey, there hain't any!" Then he said, "I wonder who got 'em?" Then he looked around a little and paused and said, "I guess that mean Bill got 'em." Then he went on his way, and I never heard any more about it. Evidently he didn't say anything about it to Dad, for if he had, I would have heard from it. We made the cider all right and I believe it was the best cider I ever tasted. It kind of made me believe in the old saying: It was as good as if I had stolen it.
My father was a prosperous farmer and he was a good horse trader and was active in the church, along with community activities. He was also a very generous giver. Sometimes there would be a revival meeting break out which sometimes lasted three to four weeks. We always boarded the preacher or preachers. Sometimes there would be as many as three or four taking part in one revival meeting. My mother never did grumble about having to cook for them.
I remember one time a preacher came to our house to help in a revival and he wouldn't eat white bread, so mother baked him corn bread. One day he went to eat dinner at the next door neighbor's and they didn't have any corn bread so they sent their little girl to borrow some bread from my mother. So when he started eating the bread he said, "Sister Streitenberger, I thought Sister Thompson could bake good corn bread but your's beats her's all to pieces. He didn't know he was eating the same bread he had been eating for a week or more. There were three other preachers at the table that knew and I guess they about busted to laugh but they never did tell Brother Johnson.
I used to go with my father when he went out horse trading. Sometimes we'd go 8 or 10 miles and riding behind my dad so far sometimes by bottom would be rubbed raw. He would always eat dinner with some of his horse trading friends and I was so bashful I could hardly eat at all, but I always tried it.
Speaking of church, they only had regular meetings once a month. They would have their business meeting on Saturday afternoon on the first Saturday in every month then they would have services on Saturday night and Sunday morning, sometimes Sunday night. The pastor usually lived about 20 miles from the church and they had to ride horseback or walk.
After church services on Sunday, Dad would yell out to the church crowd, "Everybody is welcome to stop at my house for dinner." Sometimes there would be as many as 30 or 40 people. Mother always had plenty cooked for them. She would start on Friday evening getting ready for the regular services. She was always the last one to get to church because of preparing everything for dinner. She knew Dad would bring a gang home with him for dinner.
Now a little on politics. My dad was precinct committeeman for the Democrats. He was a Democrat but occasionally he would cross over if he had a special friend on the other side. He always served as election officer about every year. I will never forget my first vote. I had been hauling votes all day for Fred Vinson who was running for Congress against William J. Fields. My dad, Lewis B. Spencer and Green Hayes were election officers. They gave me my ballot and I went in the booth to vote. I opened up my ballot and there was Fred Vinson and William Field's names right before me. I guess I was a little scared, so I made a mistake and penciled in William Field's square. I was very much in favor of Fred as he was from our county and a very special friend to our family. I thought, "Oh, Lord, what have I done, what will I do?" I was ashamed to go tell the election officers, so I decided to just let it go as it was and if Bill Fields just got one vote in George's Creek Precinct I would know who it was. So when they counted the votes, the tally, sure enough, was one vote for Bill Fields.
There were seven in my mother's family, six girls and one boy. Their names are as follows: Uncle Albert McKinster, Aunt Martha Back, Ledocia Stewart, Louise Estep, Mary Miller, Rebecca Estep and my mother, Julia Ann McKinster. Aunt Becky was the youngest. Her father, John McKinster, died before she was born and she was the seventh child born in the family, so local superstition held that she could consequently cure the "thrash". That was the breaking out of sores in a baby's mouth. They would bring all the babies in the neighborhood that had these mouth sores and she would blow her breath in its mouth and that would supposedly cure it. They didn't have money to pay doctor bills so I guess their faith and Aunt Becky's blowing saved them lots of money. But I believe if they would kept their breasts good and clean all the time, that would have been the best remedy.
The only way I had to make any money was getting a day or two of work on the farm for someone during the summer months at fifty cents a day. In the winter months I would trap opossums and skunks, or pole cats as we mountain folks would call them. I would go to my traps on my way to and from school. Sometimes I would catch a skunk and when I went into the schoolhouse everybody would say phew, someone has skinned a skunk. But the teachers were very nice. They never did make me go home.
(There are three paragraphs omitted here from the original transcripts for the sake of brevity.)
We were poor people, but there were so many in our neighborhood poorer than we were. It was pitiful. We always butchered two or three hogs every winter so that made us about enough meat and lard to do us. I can remember when you would see a little child coming to our door with a teacup in its hand, and they would say to my Mom, "My mother sent me to see if you could loan her a teacup of lard" (or maybe coffee or something else). Mother would fill their cup even if she nearly knew she would never get it back. She would always say I just can't turn them down. If I did, I couldn't stand to eat myself.
As I already stated we got married in 1929 right in the thick of the Hoover depression. We only had a Model T Ford and $100.00 in money. So in March we moved to the poorhouse. We lived there until March of 1931. My father was the keeper of the infirmary, so he gave me and my wife half of what we made, so I saved $1000.00, which was a lot of money in those days.
During the year of 1931 and 1932 we farmed on the farm where I was raised. We didn't have any money but we raised a lot of corn and vegetables, so we made out. In the fall of 1932 my wife and I were hauling fodder off the hill and our sled turned over and spread fodder clear to the foot of the hill. You talk about a fit---I had one! I told my wife I would never farm on those hills again. So I started working on my dad to sell the old place and move to Ohio. It worked. He traded the old home to a farm on Gravel Hill, (outside of Stockdale, Pike Co., Ohio).
It was a very different life altogether when we moved to Pike County, Ohio. We had to learn the farming method on this level-to-rolling farm land. The level land we had in Kentucky you could throw a rock across. We had to learn to use a two horse cultivator, plant corn with a riding corn planter and how to use a binder. We didn't have anything like this in the hills. We could not have used them because of the steep hills.
We lived on Gravel Hill 11 years then we moved to Stockdale and my first four children graduated from Stockdale High School. The last two started their grades at Stockdale but graduated from Waverly. Bonnie started her college career at Morehead State College in Kentucky, but she thought so much of her mother and dad and also a little blond-headed boy that she "quituated" after one week. I never did tell her but I was tickled pink to see her come home. She started going to the Ohio Univ. Branch at Portsmouth. She went one-half year there, then she went to Rio Grande College two years and that is where she got her cadet certificate, the same time her boyfriend received his B.S. degree. They wanted to get married about a year before they did but I talked them into the notion of waiting until they got through college. They were very nice and waited until they were about through.
I have given you some of the details of some of the things we hillbillies said and did. Now I think I will give my testimony to the Lord. As far back as I can remember I felt like I ought to serve the Lord. I would pray when I was confronted with things that I could not muster alone. After I was married I felt a greater desire to be a Christian. My wife had already started and they were in an old fashioned revival meeting at the home church and she was taking an active part in the services. They gave an altar call this night and my wife's best friend came back and invited me to the altar for prayer. I had lots of confidence in her so I went. But for some unknown reason I didn't stay through the prayer. I got up from the altar --or as we called it in those days, the mourner's bench--and left the church. I walked up the dark hollow and started praying with all my heart. I was still praying when the church crowd went by. I heard them going down the road. After some time I started for home. My dad, mother, and wife had gone home and they didn't know where I was. As I was going by my Uncle Albert's house I saw a lamp light so I stopped. Aunt Liz said, "Bill, where on earth have you been? " I said, "I have been up in the Uncle Jack Thompson's branch praying." That tickled her as she and everybody else that knew me well enough thought I had gone to an old darkey's house down the road to get some moonshine as I was pretty bad for that stuff. Aunt Liz gave me her testimony how she found the Lord, which helped me some. So I left their house and went home. My dad, mother, and lovely wife were sitting in front of the fire. They said, "Bill, where have you been?" I said, "I have been up in Uncle Jack's branch praying." That pleased them so we had family prayer before we went to bed. My wife made a statement about what someone had said to her at church that night which was very nice, but I made a statement that wasn't so nice, and something started whispering in my ear which said, "Bill, you're wrong." I went out and drew a bucket of water but this still, small voice kept whispering, "Bill, you're wrong." We went to bed and I was still praying. I said to the wife, "Are you praying for me?" and she said, "Yes, I am." So I kept praying and the Lord kept getting closer and closer apparently. Suddenly the joy sprang. I leaped out of bed and my mother did also and we shouted and had a camp meeting. I felt the power of the Lord all night. It ran through me like electricity all night. The next morning I walked about seemingly in a New World. At the end of this revival they were having a baptizing and it was January. The water I know was cold but it felt warm to me. I walked with those wet clothes on to a house and changed clothes and never felt a chill. When I came forth from the water I was shouting and praising the Lord and I wasn't doing it myself. It was the Power of the Lord doing the work. That's my experience, but I'm not saying that everyone has to have an experience just like this. The Lord knows what we all need to keep us going straight. I may lose out before I die, but this one thing I know, I'll never get away from this experience.
My father and wife had already been baptized before but when I was baptized she locked arms with me and we went under together.
We moved from Kentucky in December of 1932 and our daughter, Bonnie Lee, was born May 8, 1933 following. I always told her she was bred in old Kentucky, but she was just a crumb over here in Ohio. Isn't that some joke? Ha! Ha!
My father's nephew, Scott Thompson, came over from Kentucky to do some repair work for my father in the spring of 1933 and we took him home. We brought a man by the name of Harry Carter home with us and he has lived with us ever since. He helped take care of all our kids from Bonnie down to Denny Ray. Our children think of him as one of the family and I think any of them would fight for him if it became necessary. He is a great church man and I guess he is better known by the church people than any other person in Southern Ohio.
Since I wrote the above there has been many things happen in our family. I think the last I wrote was about February 1, 1974. On Feb. 28, 1974, Wimpy Stubbs, a man that took Harry to church all the time, called on the telephone about five o'clock in the evening and wanted Harry to go to Bond's Chapel Church with him. So Harry told him he would go. They left here about 6:45 p.m. About 9:00 p.m. I got a telephone call from Wimpy and he said Harry had a heart attack and they had taken him to Pike County Hospital. We went as quickly as we could and as we entered the door they said Harry had passed on which was a great shock to all our family as Harry had been with us for 41 years and had been faithful to all of us.
On Sunday, March 31 we had his funeral at the Waverly Church of Christ in Christian Union. The pastor, Rev. Don Humble and Rev. Bob Sayre, a former pastor preached his funeral. Brother Humble said it was the biggest funeral he'd ever had at the church in the five years he'd been there, and they said about everybody in the church shed tears, and I heard one of their staunch members say he was missed more than anyone they had ever had to die in their church. We miss him so bad it doesn't seem like the same place around here. But we all feel our loss is heaven's gain!
They sang a congregational song at the end of Harry's funeral which was Harry's most requested song, "Happy Day". Everybody shed tears. We laid him to rest in the Waverly Evergreen Cemetery beside Levi, Rosie, and Floyd Streitenberger which were very loved friends of his and also my mother and father-in-law, and brother-in-law who got killed in World War II.
Harry had just got through testifying about the goodness of God and how the spirit of the Lord was always near him and just sat down in his seat and passed on. I think they said he only gave three long breaths. They tried everything possible to revive him but they couldn't. After Harry's testimony there was a 62 year-old man that had never been to the altar before, went to the altar and got saved.
All six of my children liked sports, especially basketball. The five boys got scholarships and played their way through college. My daughter Bonnie was cheerleader four years at Stockdale High School and at Rio Grande College during those days. They have all had four years of college and most of them have a Masters degree in education.
On March 30, 1974, they had a benefit basketball game at the Waverly High School gymnasium with my five boys playing against the Demolay State Champions which was enjoyed by about 1800 fans. They took in about $1800.00 which went to the Waverly Teen Center for the fight against drugs. The score was 105 for the Thompsons and 68 for the Demolay State Champions.
